The Cricket and the Ant

It was the second day of the year 2006.
Diligent and hardworking, the ANT was not a bit afraid of the harsh winter of the Huvosvolgy (Cool Valley) district of Budapest.

But Worn, on the other hand, after the New Year’s Eve party at his friend, spent the first day just resting, sleeping, talking, eating, hopping from glass to glass. The weather was cold, wet, dark - really unfriendly. They didn’t go out, and Worn stayed at his friend’s house for the next night, too.

On the second day of the year, Worn, the lazy glasshopper, still sleepy and having a slight hangover, walked down the snowy slope to the bus-stop at Hidegkuti ut (Cold Well Road). Waiting for the blue bus that would take him to the city, he looked around and warned himself:

“You have a brilliant new year ahead.
Don’t waste it.
Just look at your friends, the ants and beetles disguised as ants.
Make use of your talents.”
